In 2019, I spent seven months in Italy, where I became fascinated by the deep cultural appreciation Italians have for coffee and the meticulous methods they use to prepare it.
As someone who enjoyed filtered and long coffees, I began researching ways to filter coffee without using paper filters. I studied a more sustainable process by reducing material use.

This led me to design a metal coffee filter that could be placed on a carafe or cup, allowing for easy cleaning without retaining the dark stains that often affect ceramic pieces.
This project remained a personal exploration.
