2019, KIP, Public Bench
as part of Keiji Takeuchi Design Office (Milan, Italy)

Project

This bench was originally designed for the Social Seating project, curated by Jasper Morrison for the first Art & Design Biennale in Fiskars Village, Finland. The goal was to create a bench that pays tribute to nature and the atmosphere of the site. Keiji Takeuchi envisioned a piece so natural and timeless that it would feel as if it had always belonged there. To achieve this, the bench needed a form that was both graceful and inviting.

Participation

I joined the second phase of the project during my internship at Keiji Takeuchi Design Office. I built a full-scale model and collaborated closely with Keiji Takeuchi to refine the bench design. This process was a valuable exercise in visual precision and craftsmanship, as the bench’s subtle details are perceived not only through sight, but also through touch and the experience of sitting.
